Master of Education in Educational Leadership

The Master of Education (MEd) is available specifically for students enrolled in the Preliminary Administrator Licensure program who have teaching experience, but do not yet have a master’s degree.

Most master’s degree students graduate in less than two years.

Master of Education Program Prerequisites

Applicants must:

  • Be able to complete the master’s degree concurrently with the licensure program for an MEd/PreAL or already have a master’s degree if pursuing administrative licensure only
     
  • Hold, have held, or be eligible to hold a teaching license, or be a licensed school psychologist or counseling psychologist
     
  • Verify three years of full-time successful licensed educator experience (e.g., teacher, school psychologist, counseling psychologist, or speech pathologist experience)
     
  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0

Master of Education Program Requirements

The master’s degree requires a minimum total of 45 credits.

As many as 15 related graduate credits can be considered for transfer as electives from another accredited university.
