Meet Gehna Greenslate, '25

Gehna Greenslate

What have you learned during your time in the program that has helped shape your future career goals?

While I am just starting my second term in the EPoL Program, I have had the privilege to learn so much from my amazing courses and professors. I have learned about the policies that shape our current educational structure, and how to apply my passions to the educational environment of higher education.

What are your career plans after completion of the program?

Upon completion of this program, I hope to be enrolled in an EdD program working on obtaining a Doctoral degree in Educational Policy and Leadership. I hope to stay within the world of Academia while supporting students from marginalized backgrounds during their higher education journey.

How have COE faculty/staff been influential or helpful during your time in the program?

The COE faculty and staff have been wonderful during this program. The transition to Graduate School is challenging, however, due to the unconditional support from faculty and staff, I was able to learn new skills and engage in EPoL courses. Faculty such as Anwesha Guha, Janette Avelar, and Jesse Nelson made my first term so much fun. Their ongoing support and dedication to the field of education have helped me stay motivated and excited for courses to come!
