Research

Dr. Mauricio’s interests focus on developing, implementing, and evaluating culturally responsive, family-centered, evidence-based interventions, with an emphasis on the translation of evidence-based interventions for sustainable delivery in community practice settings. In the last ten years, most of her research has focused on the Family Check-Up, which is an evidence-based parenting intervention with demonstrated effects on child outcomes. This research has included using community-engaged approaches to develop Family Check-Up training, technical assistance, and implementation monitoring protocols that are feasible and acceptable in real-world community practice. More recent work focused on developing, implementing, and evaluating a brief motivational interviewing intervention to increase uptake of SARS-CoV-2 testing and vaccination among people who inject drugs, and a culturally responsive outreach program to improve access to SARS-CoV-2 testing among Latine communities in Oregon.
