Why did you choose UO and/or your program or major?

I’m passionate about Latine students in Higher Education and my advisor Dr. Audrey Lucero has been an inspiring mentor.

What is your most memorable experience at the College of Education?

I loved volunteering to present at SAIL and Raices Unidas Conference hosted by MEChA. Talking to high school students about how they too can find their place in higher education is really fulfilling work.

What are your plans after graduation?

I am moving to Salt Lake City with my family and will continue teaching pre-service teachers.

What impact do you hope to make in your future career?

I hope to teach students that university professors do not have to look or sound a certain way.

Do you have any advice for prospective students?

Higher Ed is stressful so self-care should always come first. You will remember the time you spent with your friends in 10 years, you will not remember the Saturday night you stayed at home doing your homework.
