Biography

Dr. Suzanne Bamonto is a Senior Lecturer II in School Psychology at the University of Oregon and teaches primarily on the Portland campus. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Oregon, she was an Associate Professor of Psychology and School Psychology Program director at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her primary research and teaching interests are related to the provision of effective reading instruction and culturally responsive intervention within Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. She has several peer-reviewed publications and is a co-author of RTI in Practice: A Practical Guide to Implementing Evidence-Based Interventions in Your School. Dr. Bamonto's school-based experience includes four years of employment post-internship at the School District of Indian River County in Vero Beach, Florida, and one year working as a school psychologist in the Rochester City School District. She holds a professional license as a psychologist in New York State and has private practice experience in a clinical setting. Dr. Bamonto has conducted over 100 local, regional, and statewide workshops in 16 states on Curriculum-Based Measurement, Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills, Response to Intervention, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, classroom and individual student behavior management, social skills instruction, and awareness of warning signs of potentially harmful behavior in students. These include consultation and presentations for state departments of education in New York, Florida, Louisiana, and Georgia.
