Advising Resources
Get to the Academic Advising Team in order to:
- Meet with a COE advisor at least once per term.
- Schedule your appointment early in the term.
- Take advantage of our drop-in advising hours.
- Review the class schedule to see what classes are offered each term.
- Learn about important academic dates and deadlines on the Academic Calendar, such as, the last day to: withdraw from a class, changing grade option, and variable credits.
- Learn about the Refund Schedules.
- Review this Transfer Equivalency chart to determine how AP/IB exam scores count for credits, and how courses may transfer to the University of Oregon.
- Calculate your cumulative or term GPA use the GPA Calculator.
- Review the UO programs with the UO Catalog.
Policies and Petitions
- Read and learn about the UO Bachelor’s Degree Requirements.
- Understand your academic standing.
- Consider one or more of the many academic honors and awards available at the university.
- Contact the Office of the Registrar and Office of Academic Advising to file any petitions that you may need considered.
Exploring Academics
- Ask for academic support when you need it, the Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center (TAEC) offers all types of supports such as tutoring, peer academic coaching, test prep, help with incomplete courses, workshops, etc.
- Explore majors and minors here.
- Consider studying abroad! Explore the Global Education Office's website and schedule an appointment with one of their advisors.
- Wander through the library! The Library is a great place to borrow books, study, attend workshops, and reserve study rooms and spaces.
Getting Involved
Engage with campus opportunities!
- If you are looking for groups on campus to get involved with, you can search for those through Engage.
- The Student Recreation Center is a great place to get active and make new friends!
- Look for opportunities to connect. For example, connecting around our cultures and identities is key to our success and sense of belonging. The Dean of Students' Community page has many options for finding communities that sustain you. Dreamer and undocumented students can also connect to UO Dreamer resources and support.
Health and Wellness
- If you are looking for mental health support services, you can visit Counseling Services for more information or to set up a virtual appointment.
- Basic needs like food assistance are available. There are a lot of free resources to help access food, including the Student Food Pantry and SNAP benefits. Check out the UO Basic Needs Blog for other food and housing resources.
- There is support for your physical wellbeing to be found in health care services at University Health Services.
Keeping Informed
- The One Stop Student Resource page is worth reviewing and keeping as a reference. Information about everything from tutoring to transportation can be found there.
- For support looking for on/off campus employment and other career related questions you can set up a meeting with a Career Coach in the University Career Center.
