Miyoko serves as a Clinical Supervisor for the Communication Disorders and Sciences graduate program in the Brain Injury and Concussion Clinic (BrICC) and the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic. She is also Co-Director of Project VOICE (Valuing Opportunities for Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Early Communication), a federally funded Personnel Development Grant through the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). Project VOICE prepares master's students through specialized interdisciplinary training to support young autistic children and their families in early intervention and early childhood special education settings.
Miyoko is licensed by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She has clinical experience across educational and medical settings, beginning her career as a school-based speech language pathologist serving preschool through high school students before transitioning to medical practice. Her clinical background includes outpatient pediatric and adult therapy, inpatient rehab, and adult acute care.
Her professional interests include AAC and cognitive rehabilitation, with a passion for supporting individuals across the lifespan. In addition to providing direct clinical services, Miyoko has served as the hospital representative for the Pediatric Rehabilitation Operations Committee within her healthcare network.
