Kathleen Jungjohann is a senior instructor in Special Education and research assistant at the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Oregon. She has over twenty-five years of experience working with preservice and inservice teachers. Ms. Jungjohann currently teaches graduate coursework in math, reading, writing, and content area strategies and in 2010, was the recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award in the UO College of Education. She specializes in effective instructional design to meet the needs of a range of learners, including students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ms. Jungjohann’s research and outreach efforts in the area of mathematics includes work with elementary and middle school teachers in incorporating evidence based practices into math instruction. She is the co-author of several IES-funded math curricula designed to meet the needs of young at-risk and struggling students in mathematics.
