Application Information

The Department of Education Studies is currently not accepting Reading Endorsment applications for the 2018-19 academic year.


Applicants interested in earning a master's degree with the Reading Endorsement DO NOT complete the materials listed below; instead, they should consult the Education Studies department for application requirements.

Endorsement program eligibility:
1. Complete an "Education CTED - endorsement" application.
2. Have a current Oregon teaching license, in good standing.
3. Have a current criminal history background clearance.
4. Upload completed COE Character Questionnaire for admissions.
5. Commit to completing the course work, practicum, and TSPC licensure application in one to five years.

The application for the Reading Endorsement is administered through the Graduate School, please select the College of Education, Stand-Alone endorsement. 

The process and includes the following:

  1. A statement of purpose, this may include how it would contribute to your current position or future plans
  2. A current resume (including indication of current licensure)
  3. A copy of your most recent license
  4. Transcripts showing degrees earned, minimum GPA of 3.0 required by UO Graduate School, for most recent degree
  5. Contract information of three professional references

Graduate School Reading Endorsement applications are due no less than one month before the start of term. The application for the Reading Endorsement is administered through the Graduate School, please click "Apply Here" and scroll down to the College of Education, the select "Curriculum and Teacher Education - Endorsements." Admission will be conducted on a rolling basis.
