Communication Disorders & Sciences Program General Questions

How do I navigate the CDS website?
Go to the left-hand side of the page, and click on links for either the undergraduate program, master’s program or doctoral program.  Each of these pages is then navigated through links on the left in the inner white margin.  The CDS web page is located within the College of Education website.

How do I find the CDS program on campus?
If you look at the campus map (see previous question), the College of Education is on the lower left side.  It is located near Knight Library (southwest of the library).  The CDS Academic office is located on the 2nd floor of the HEDCO Education Building.

What separates the UO CDS program from others?
The size of our program, the relationship between students and faculty, commitment to evidence-based practice and a state-of-the-art, on-campus clinic. The CDS program is also proud to offer a Bilingual Emphasis program focused on Spanish-speaking pediatric populations. Be sure to watch our video about the program to learn more.

Can you give me driving directions to the CDS program?
From the Eugene airport:

  1. Follow Highway 99 until it becomes 7th Avenue. Get in the right lane and follow 7th Avenue until it becomes Franklin Boulevard. Get in the right lane and follow Franklin Boulevard until you reach Alder Street (after the pancake house, but at the same corner as
  2. the Phoenix Inn). Turn right onto Alder.  Follow through one stoplight (11th Avenue). Turn left at the 2nd stoplight (13th Avenue)
  3. Street dead-ends at Kincaid.  Turn right. There is metered parking all along this street.  The Larry Lokey College of Education (COE) building is at the end of the street – a 2-story brick building with white trim.  Walk past this building, and on your right will be a new three-story brick building -- the HEDCO Education building.  CDS is located on the 2nd floor.

If you don’t find parking on Kincaid, you can also try the side streets, which have 2-hour parking.

Driving Directions from I-5:

  1. Take exit 194B.
  2. Take exit 2 toward Coburg Road, keep left and follow signs to UO.
  3. Proceed in the left lane over the Ferry Street Bridge, exiting onto Broadway, which becomes Franklin Blvd.
