Speech-Language-Hearing Center

The Speech-Language-Hearing Center (SLHC) is part of the Communication Disorders and Sciences program of the College of Education.  Services are provided through the HEDCO Clinic.  Graduate student clinicians provide diagnostic evaluations and individual and group therapy to all ages.  Students are supervised by faculty members who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and are also licensed by the state of Oregon.  

The center operates in conjunction with the University of Oregon quarter schedule, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  The Speech-Language-Hearing Center has a fee schedule, which includes a sliding scale option.  Individual therapy sessions are available for all clients. In addition, the clinic offers group therapy sessions for adults with aphasia and children with speech, language, hearing difficulties.      
The SLHC provides services to children and adolescents with
  • Language and speech delay/disorders
  • Language, speech, and cognitive impairments following acquired brain injury
  • Stuttering
  • Voice disorders
  • Hearing disorders
The SLHC provides services to adults with
  • Language, speech, and cognitive impairments following a stroke and acquired brain injury
  • Stuttering
  • Voice disorders
  • Hearing disorders
The SLHC is located in the HEDCO Clinic, Suite 170 (1st floor of south wing of the HEDCO Education Building) at 1655 Alder Street in Eugene, Oregon.  Appointments for speech, language, and hearing evaluations and intervention services may be scheduled through the clinic receptionist: (541) 346-0923.
