Inside-Out "Liberating Education" Information Meeting

Event date:
Friday, November 8, 2013 -
1:00pm to 2:30pm

You've heard of Inside-Out courses.  Now, join the College of Education in our first ever offering. Come to 372 HEDCO and get more information!

Engage in a critical discussion of the role of the education system in our society, and how it can both liberate and oppress, as well as our roles as individuals in self-liberation and possibly liberating "Education" itself.  Through course readings, dialogues and activities we will explore the history, sociology, and politics of American education.  Using a social justice lens, we will examine our deeply held beliefs about the importance of public education, in comparison with the purposes our system serves in contemporary society.
