Educational Leadership Graduate Programs

Doctor of Education (DEd)

Our DEd program in educational leadership emphasizes the development of expertise in professional practice and is intended for individuals who want careers as administrators, staff developers, curriculum specialists, or positions at state and local educational service districts or state departments of education.

This degree is also appropriate for those who want to teach at the college or university level, with a focus on professional practice rather than research.

Master of Education (MEd) + Principal Licensure

This program is designed for students concurrently enrolled in our Principal Licensure Program who do not already hold a master’s degree or are seeking a second degree. The master’s degree, offered through a partnership with the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators, is aligned with National Educational Leadership Preparation standards that emphasize instructional leadership and cultural competence. The two-year curriculum is offered largely online, and candidates are eligible for financial aid.

MEd + Principal Licensure

Education Specialist (EdS) + Professional Administrator Licensure

Many states now require district superintendents to hold an EdS or doctoral degree. The EdS degree, offered in partnership with the Coalition for Oregon School Administrators, helps qualify educational leaders for superintendent and central office administrator positions. The two-year curriculum is offered largely online. Completion of the coursework also qualifies the student for the Oregon Professional Administrator License, and the degree is eligible for financial aid. This program will be available soon.
