Preparing to Teach
 
The College of Education offers teacher licensure programs in both general and special education:

K–12 Licensure - UO Teach
The graduate program in teacher education emphasizes critical, engaging teaching, cultural awareness, and strong preparation in subject matter. Completion of the program leads to a teaching license and a master's of education degree (MEd) in Teaching and Learning. The program has two strands: Early Childhood/Elementary or Middle School/High School. Both strands include embedded preparation in ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages).

Special Education
The graduate program in special education is committed to making a difference for children and people with disabilities and their families by increasing their success in schools, workplaces, and community settings. The master's degree program in special education emphasizes knowledge of learners who are identified with learning disabilities, behavior disorders, autism, or severe disabilities.

The Department of Special Education offers three emphasis areas:
Early Intervention (birth to age 8)
Early Childhood/Elementary (ages 5 to 12)
Middle/Secondary (ages 13-22)
