The UO Counseling Psychology (CPSY) doctoral program in the College of Education has been accredited since 1955 by the American Psychological Association (APA) (Commission on Accreditation, 750 1st St. NE, Washington DC 20002-4242, 202-336-5979), making it the 8th oldest continuously accredited counseling psychology program in the country. The program emphasizes an ecological model of training, research, and practice. One of only a few programs nationally to use this model, CPSY students become scientists and practitioners with particular focus on prevention and treatment relevant to work with children, adolescents, families, and adults within their environments.
