The goal of the CDS program is to develop professionals who are prepared to make significant contributions as speech-language pathologists and audiologists.

CDS offers a bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree. CDS also offers a post-baccalaureate program for master's preparation.

Faculty specialties in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences include Language Development and Disorders, Psycholinguistics, and Cognitive Rehabilitation.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for Speech-Language Pathologists is expected to increase up to 35% until the year 2012.

The CDS major leads to work with clients having disorders of speech, language, cognition, and hearing. Professional practice includes work with medical professionals, educators, and counselors.
