The ability to apply evidence-based practice to the process of enhancing communication skills in meaningful and ecologically valid contexts is emphasized throughout the program. Graduates are prepared to conduct research, provide direct service and consultations in educational and clinical settings.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for Speech-Language Pathologists is expected to increase up to 35% until the year 2012.
Do you like to work with varying age groups? The CDS major leads to work with clients having disorders of speech, language, cognition, and hearing. Professional practice includes work with medical professionals, educators, and counselors. Career Paths for CDS Major |
