What does it take to be a good teacher in today’s world?

It takes more than good intentions, books, and a chalkboard. The classroom of today can be a social, cultural, behavioral, and technological adventure, and teachers need to be well prepared to meet potential challenges.

University of Oregon teaching licensure programs can give you that preparation. Our faculty members at the UO College of Education are internationally recognized experts who draw from a broad spectrum of classroom and scholarly experience.

Now through February 1, 2010, the program is accepting applications for the K–12 teacher licensure program. The program is full time at the graduate level for five consecutive terms (summer 2010 through summer 2011). Successful completion of the program results in a teaching license in either early childhood/elementary teaching, or—for those who want to specialize in a subject area—in middle school/high school teaching. Both strands offer training toward an ESOL endorsement, and also lead to a Master’s degree in education.

Successful completion of the program results in a teaching license in early childhood/elementary or middle school/high school with training toward an ESOL endorsement.
