Communication Disorders and Sciences Application Procedures
The application deadline for the CDS master's program:
February 1. 

 

There are three parts to the CDS master's application process:
1) Submission of materials to the Office of Admissions,
2) Submission of materials to the CDS Program, and
3) Test Scores independently reported to the CDS Program.

To the UO Office of Admissions, submit the following:
• University of Oregon Graduate School admission application form (must be submitted online)
• One set of official transcripts from each degree institution
• $50.00 nonrefundable application fee

To the CDS Program Office, submit the following:
• Department application form
• Cover Letter (450-word limit)
• Vita or Résumé
• Scholarly Paper (please use questions provided)
• Three (3) recent letters of recommendation (at least two must be from academic or clinical faculty)
• Three (3) CDS Letter of Recommendation Forms
• One set of official transcripts (from each degree institution and from any institution where courses listed on the Prerequisite Course Checklist were taken)
• Prerequisite Course Checklist

Test Scores Reported Directly to CDS Program:
• GRE (Graduate Record Exam) scores.  Minimum score 950 cumulative for verbal and quantitative; minimum 400 verbal.
• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores (if English is a second language). Minimum score 600 on paper-based test and 100 on Internet-based test. For a full explanation of CDS policy on TOEFL, please see:

** Please schedule GRE and/or TOEFL tests by December.  Tests should be taken by early January to ensure scores reach Academic Secretary by application deadline.
