Policies & Procedures for the CFT program. Applicants need to apply to both the CFT program and the Graduate School Office of Admissions.

Application materials must be RECEIVED by the January 29, 2010 deadline.
1. Apply to the Graduate School:
• Submit the University of Oregon Graduate Admission online application form. (Please note that you will be charged a $50 non-refundable application fee when submitting an application). Select Counseling, Family & Human Services as your major. If you have questions concerning this form, contact the Graduate School.
• Mail one set of official transcripts from each school where a degree has been earned. If the degree is in progress, provide the most up-to-date transcript. This set of transcripts should be sent to:

If your transcripts are not in English, for admission to the Graduate School the applicant is required to provide a CERTIFIED English translation of all college or university transcripts. Transcripts must reflect the equivalent of a four-year bachelor’s degree from an institution of recognized standing.

2. Apply to the CFT Program:

• CFT application form
• A vita OR resume
• A personal statement (2 single-spaced pages describing goals and purpose in seeking admission to program)
• A 1 page, singe-spaced written essay response to the following questions: What does diversity mean to you? What does it mean to be sensitive and responsive to diversity as a profession?
• Three (3) letters of recommendation, each with form
• One set of official transcripts, in English, from each school where a degree has been earned. If the degree is in progress, provide the most up-to-date transcript. (This set is separate from the set for the Graduate School).
• Have ETS send general (not subject) Graduate Record Exam (GRE) OR Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores. (GRE minimum score of 1000 or MAT minimum score of 50). Test must be taken within the past five years. Because it takes about 6 weeks for the scores to arrive, it is helpful to include a copy of your scores in your application packet.**
• For international applicants, a TOEFL score (internet 88 or paper score of 575 is required) OR IELTS (overall band score of 7.0).
Individuals who do not meet all of these criteria can still apply, but they should justify admission via other exceptional credentials. The CFT faculty will review all complete applications.
** GRE scores should be sent to Institution Code 4846, Department Code 2005, or select Counseling Psychology. If you do not specify one of these options, the program will not receive your scores.
January 29, 2010 All application materials, including letters of recommendation and transcripts, must be RECEIVED by this date. Incomplete or late applications (those arriving after January 29) will not be reviewed for admission, no exceptions.
Note: It is the applicant's responsibility to confirm that the program has received ALL admission materials BEFORE the deadline. The program will not notify applicants of incomplete files. Confirm the receipt of your application by emailing the program at cft@uoregon.edu.
As stated in the Policies, domestic candidates invited to the March 4 (Thursday) interview are required to attend. International applicants will receive a phone interview.
