Communications Management
The management of COE communications includes the assessment and identification of communications strategies, vehicles, or products that touch three areas of college-wide communication:
• Organizational identity and messaging
• Executive or internal relationships with faculty and business areas of UO campus
• COE and UO external relations and development

Each of these areas are also served by faculty, officers of administration, the Office of Dean and its support staff, and the COE executive council in various capacities. The Office of Dean also coordinates communications with state of Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commision, and through the Associate Dean for Academic programs, crafts policy and procedures for the academic activities of faculty and students in the college. COE and UO external relations and development also coordinate with UO Office of Advancement, through the COE Director of External Relations.

COE communications provides a point of central contact and structure for identifying, pursuing, and managing both strategic communications and the knowledge of the institution, its mission, and the scholarship of its faculty and students. Communications officers provide source information and help create shared knowledge for each of the administrative offices charged with college communication and information distribution.
